The Day and Night camel trek in the Merzouga Sahara Desert begins around 10:00 AM. Your camel guide will lead you through the golden, rolling sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Journey across this stunning landscape on the back of a camel, a traditional means of transport in the Sahara that dates back thousands of years. As you travel through the dunes toward the desert camp, immerse yourself in the serene and timeless atmosphere.
The camel ride typically takes about two hours. Upon arrival at the camp, you can unwind with a cup of tea while our staff prepares a delicious lunch. This Merzouga camel adventure offers a unique opportunity to experience the simplicity and resourcefulness of the nomadic lifestyle.
After enjoying a hearty lunch, you might wish to climb the tall sand dunes and try sandboarding, a popular activity in the Merzouga desert and Erg Chebbi dunes. It’s also a perfect chance to witness one of the most breathtaking sunsets and capture beautiful photos.

Yes, it’s a shared tour. You will travel with a small group from around the world.
What should I pack for the tour?
Comfortable clothing and footwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a camera are recommended.
Are bathrooms private in the second night hotel?
Yes, they are. Your hotel room will have private ensuite bathrooms.
How long id the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?
It is roughly 1 hour for sunset and another hour for sunrise the following day. Time depends on season, Day light saving time, and sunset/sunrise time.
What if we want to skip the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?
You can. a 4×4 will be offered to transfer you from Merzouga lodge to Erg Chebbi desert camp for an extra fee of 30 Euros ( Included in luxury tent option )
Is sand boarding is included?
There will be a few sand boards available at the camp operator’s lodge to use at leisure ( Availability not guaranteed ). You can ask for one to take to the camp with you. They are free of charge
