On the first day of our 7-day Tangier to Imperial Cities trip, we’ll pick you up from the airport or port and drive to Chefchaouen, the blue city, passing through the stunning Rif mountains and Tetouan. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery before an overnight stay at your Riad or hotel.
After breakfast at the riad, we’ll embark on an authentic journey to Volubilis, passing through Ouazan and various Rif villages. In Volubilis, explore the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco and delve into its archaeological history.
Following the ruins, we’ll head to Meknes, a 17th-century heritage site. Enjoy lunch and stroll through the historic medina, including Bab el Mansour and the tomb of Moulay Ismail. Finally, we’ll drive directly to Fes for the night.
Today, you’ll embark on a guided tour of Fes’s medina, exploring its narrow, cobbled streets lined with ancient mosques and distinctive green-glazed minarets, showcasing the unique Andalusian architecture throughout the city.
We’ll visit key cultural and historical sites, including the renowned Al Qaraouine University, along with the tanneries and a ceramics cooperative to witness traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. Overnight stay at a hotel or riad.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel/Riad and head south to Azrou, passing through Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco) and the Middle Atlas mountains. We’ll stop at the cedar forest to capture photos with Barbary macaques.
Continuing through the Atlas Mountains, we’ll admire the landscapes of Midelt. After lunch, we’ll travel through Ziz Valley, passing Erfoud and Rissani before reaching Merzouga. Overnight stay at your local hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll explore the area, starting with a visit to a village of people from Mali to enjoy their music and lifestyle.
Next, we’ll head to Miffis Mines to learn about their operations before venturing into the desert for stunning views. There, we’ll share a warm cup of tea with local Bedouins.
Before returning to the hotel, our guides will teach you how to mount and dismount a camel and share essential safety tips. Then, we’ll explore the enchanting sand sea of Erg Chebbi. Overnight will be in a Berber tent.
On our 7-Day Trip from Tangier to the Imperial Cities, we’ll rise early to witness a breathtaking sunrise, casting beautiful colors over Morocco’s tallest sand dunes.
After breakfast, we’ll head to Tinghir and explore the stunning Todra Gorge, known for its impressive height and narrowness. This area is perfect for hiking, relaxing by the river, or tasting local Berber dishes.
After lunch in the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, ending the day at a lovely hotel perched atop a mountain.
After breakfast at your hotel, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley to Kalaa M’gouna (the city of roses) and Ouarzazate. This scenic route features numerous kasbahs, offering great photo opportunities.
Next, we’ll make a brief stop at the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate before visiting Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco, built by T-Hami El Glaoui, a Berber chieftain, in the early 20th century. This site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
After lunch, we’ll continue our journey over the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying panoramic views and charming Berber villages until we reach Marrakech, concluding the 7-Day Trip from Tangier to the Imperial Cities via the Sahara Desert.
