This 6-day trip from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga Sahara begins with a guided sightseeing tour of Fes. We’ll pick you up from your hotel/riad in an air-conditioned vehicle with a bilingual guide.
The tour includes highlights such as the Andalusian Mosque, the tanneries, El-Attarine Madrasa, Quarraouine Mosque, Moulay Idriss, Nejjarine Museum, Royal Palace, and Bab Boujloud gate. After exploring the key landmarks, we’ll drop you back at your hotel/riad in Fes for the night.
The next morning, after breakfast, we’ll depart from Fes to Midelt, passing through Ifrane, a Moroccan-style resort built by the French in the 1930s. We’ll stop in Azrou to visit the cedar forests and see the monkeys.
The journey will take us through beautiful forests, springs, and Berber villages. By the end of the day, we’ll arrive in Midelt and check into our hotel/riad for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we’ll continue our 6-day journey from Fes to Marrakech through Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way, we’ll stop for photos and enjoy the scenery, including a large palm tree oasis.
Upon arriving in Merzouga, we’ll check into the hotel/riad for dinner and an overnight stay.
The following day, we’ll head to Khamlia village to experience Gnawa music, then explore abandoned mines, visit Berber nomads, and relax by a palm tree oasis.
After lunch and a break in Merzouga, we’ll embark on a camel trek through the sand dunes. The night will be spent at a desert camp with drum music, offering a perfect chance to capture the sunset and sunrise.
This journey into the Moroccan Sahara is an opportunity to discover its vast landscapes and secrets, with a night spent in traditional Berber tents.
Wake up early and walk through the sand dunes to watch the sunrise. Return to the hotel by camel for a shower, breakfast, and relaxation.
Then, head towards the gorges, stopping in Rissani to explore the historic site of Sijilmassa, once a major desert trading hub, and visit the fortified Kasbahs. Continue through the Ziz Valley and take a brief walk in Todra Gorge to admire the rivers and mountains.
Finally, arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or traditional Kasbah.
After breakfast, we’ll explore Ouarzazate, visiting the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Studios. Next, we head to the Fint Oasis, followed by a stop for lunch along the Tizi-n-Tichka road. We’ll arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, concluding our 6-day journey from Fes through the Sahara Desert.
