Take a day to delve into one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, renowned for its UNESCO-listed monuments and the vibrant Jemaa el Fna square.
Wander through its distinct neighborhoods, such as modern Guéliz, Hivernage, Palmeraie, and the historic Mellah (Jewish quarter). Alternatively, navigate the Medina’s winding streets to reach Jemaa el Fna, where street performers, musicians, and snake charmers create an atmosphere rich with sounds, scents, and colors. Continuing our 15-day tour of Morocco from Tangier, we embark on a day trip to the stunning Ouzoud waterfalls, which rise 110 meters in the Atlas Mountains of Azilal. These waterfalls are considered the most beautiful in Morocco and North Africa, set against a backdrop of vibrant landscapes. In the afternoon, you can watch playful monkeys in the area, often trying to steal food from tourists.
After breakfast, we’ll head to Ait Benhaddou, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka, passing through Berber nomad villages.
We’ll enjoy the stunning views before visiting the well-preserved Kasbah of Telouet. After touring the kasbah, we’ll proceed to the famous Ait Benhaddou, known for being a filming location for over twenty movies, including “Babel.”
Our 15-day Morocco tour continues from Tangier to Ouarzazate, through the Rose Valley and into the Dades Gorges, marking the start of the “Route of the Thousand Kasbahs.” We’ll stay overnight in Dades Valley, enjoying dinner at a charming hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. We visit the Todra Gorges, where you can take a lovely walk through towering canyon walls over 200 meters high, leading to the Tafilalet palm grove and the desert.

After a hearty Moroccan breakfast, we’ll hop into a 4×4 to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, a sandy desert region. Our journey includes stops to learn about local nomadic families, discover hidden oases, and enjoy stunning landscapes and small desert villages. A highlight will be our visit to Khamlia, where we’ll experience a captivating Gnawa music concert from the Malian community while sipping on delicious tea.
On our return to the hotel, our dromedaries will be ready for a scenic 90-minute trek through the dunes, leading us to a picturesque spot to watch the sunset. Surrounded by the Great Dune, we’ll enjoy a dinner of Moroccan dishes and traditional tea, all while soaking in the starry sky before settling down in a cozy nomad tent.
We rise early to witness a stunning sunrise over the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. After another camel ride back to the hotel, we enjoy breakfast and freshen up before heading to Rissani. There, we explore Morocco’s most authentic souk, the largest in the south, bustling with handicrafts, food, and livestock.
We then travel through Erfoud, the ancient gateway to the desert, renowned for its fossil work, and cross the breathtaking Ziz Valley, home to over 18,000 palm trees, before arriving in Midelt for dinner and an overnight stay in a lovely hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll head to Meknes to explore the renowned Roman ruins of Volubilis. Next, we’ll continue to Fez, where you’ll have the rest of the day to discover the city. Charming accommodation awaits.
Explore Fes for a Day: Discover one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, known as the country’s cultural and religious hub. Its renowned university attracts many Moroccan students studying Arabic and Islam.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore various neighborhoods, including Fès el-Jdid with the Mellah (Jewish quarter) and Ville Nouvelle (French New Town), as well as the historic medina, where traditional potters, smiths, and craftsmen work alongside tourists in its winding streets.
