Upon your arrival at the guesthouse, we will provide you with the sandboards. You can either park your car and grab the sandboards to make your way to the dunes or take them with you in the car and drive to the dune’s edge, where you can leave the car until your return.
In the Erg Chebbi dunes, you’ll discover a range of activities as these are the largest sand dunes in Morocco. This is why many enthusiasts of sandboarding and snowboarding shouldn’t miss the chance to experience this incredible desert activity.
Sandboarding in Merzouga offers a fantastic way to explore the Merzouga desert’s sand dunes. The larger the dune, the longer your ride down will be.
You can transport the sandboards either on camels or in a 4WD as you venture into the desert. Once you reach your camp near one of the tallest sand dunes, enjoy the thrill of sliding down the sandy slopes on your board. It’s both a challenge and a lot of fun!

Is this a private tour or with a group?
Yes, it’s a shared tour. You will travel with a small group from around the world.
What should I pack for the tour?
Comfortable clothing and footwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a camera are recommended.
Are bathrooms private in the second night hotel?
Yes, they are. Your hotel room will have private ensuite bathrooms.
How long id the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?
It is roughly 1 hour for sunset and another hour for sunrise the following day. Time depends on season, Day light saving time, and sunset/sunrise time.
What if we want to skip the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?
You can. a 4×4 will be offered to transfer you from Merzouga lodge to Erg Chebbi desert camp for an extra fee of 30 Euros ( Included in luxury tent option )
Is sand boarding is included?
There will be a few sand boards available at the camp operator’s lodge to use at leisure ( Availability not guaranteed ). You can ask for one to take to the camp with you. They are free of charge
