Today, we will pick you up at your accommodation in Casablanca or the airport and head to Chefchaouen.
During this 7-day tour, one of the best in the Sahara, we’ll stop briefly at notable sites in Rabat, including the Hassan Tower, before arriving in Chefchaouen. You’ll spend the night in a charming riad in the Medina.
On the second day of our Imperial Cities and Sahara Desert tour, enjoy a free day to wander the blue alleys of Chefchaouen. Explore key highlights such as the bustling Stalk, Akshour Falls, the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum, the lively Utah Lhmam Square, and the Al-Swaiqa District. Spend the night in a traditional Riad.
After breakfast at your riad, you’ll head to Fes, stopping at Ouazzan and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. After a couple of hours’ drive, you’ll arrive at Volubilis, a well-preserved Roman site from 225 BC, famous for its stunning mosaics dating back to the 3rd century BC. You’ll enjoy a guided tour and learn about the Roman Empire.
Next, we’ll travel to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, where you’ll see the impressive Bab Mansour gate, built by Sultan My Ismail, along with the granary and the Sahrij Souani, used for irrigation.
On this 7-day tour from Casablanca, you’ll also visit the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum before continuing on to Fes. You’ll spend the night in a beautiful riad in the medina.
After breakfast at your riad, you’ll begin your exploration of Fes, known as the ‘Spiritual City of Morocco.’ Spend the morning wandering the Medina’s alleys and visiting key sites like the historic Al Karaouine Mosque and University, the Bouanania Madrasa, the Tanneries, and the Najjarine Fountain.
After lunch, we’ll take you outside the Medina to see the Royal Palace gate, stroll through the Jewish quarter (Mellah), and visit a pottery cooperative.
In the afternoon, enjoy a panoramic view of the Medina from one of the fortresses before returning to your riad for the night.
After breakfast, we will head south to the Merzouga desert, passing through Midelt and Errachidia. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco.” As we travel, you’ll enjoy views of the Middle and Higher Atlas mountains.
We’ll visit the largest cedar forest in Morocco, home to Barbarian apes, and observe the changing landscape as we approach Er Rachidia. After lunch in Midelt, we’ll continue through the stunning Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views.
Next, we’ll drive through Berber villages to Erfoud and Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty.
Arriving in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted with mint tea before riding a camel to watch the sunset over Morocco’s tallest sand dunes. We’ll spend the night in a well-equipped desert camp, where dinner will be served.
After enjoying breakfast and a hot shower at the desert camp, your camel guide will awaken you early for what could be the best sunrise of your life.
Following this, you’ll leisurely camel trek back, soaking in the stunning beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes, which change with the light throughout the day. You’ll then meet your driver for a trip to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco, where you’ll have a chance to hike along the valley.
Next, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley to see the impressive sand castles and unique rock formations known as “monkey toes.” Finally, you’ll spend the night in a riad or hotel within the gorge, including dinner and breakfast.
After breakfast, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. Since the route through Dades Valley is named the way of thousand Kasbahs. So it provides numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip.

Later, on this 7-day tour of Morocco’s Sahara from Casablanca, we’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, the ‘rose city,’ to buy rosewater for fresh-smelling linen long after your trip. We’ll then continue to Ouarzazate, dubbed ‘the Hollywood of Africa.’
Lunch will be at the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its role in films like ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘Gladiator.’
Our journey continues over the majestic Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass (2260 m) in the High Atlas Mountains, with a chance to explore argan oil production at women’s cooperatives before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech, where the tour concludes.
