On the first day of our 6-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, after breakfast, we’ll head to Fez, stopping in Meknes, a city in the Middle Atlas. Along the way, we’ll visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch in Meknes, we’ll continue to Fez, where you’ll arrive in the afternoon, have dinner, and spend the night at your accommodation.
After breakfast, the day will focus on exploring Fes, a stunning city divided into three areas: Fez el-Bali (the old part), Fès el-Jdid (the modern part), and the French-influenced old Medina.
Visitors are enchanted by its extensive medieval streets. Key attractions include the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), the Plaza of Dyers, Fes el-Bali, Fes el-Jdid, the Andalusian Mosque, and more.
After the tour, we’ll head to the riad for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we’ll continue our excursion to the Merzouga desert, making several interesting stops along the way as we enter the Middle Atlas.
First, we’ll visit Ifrane, a charming town with a colder climate and European-style architecture. Next, we’ll head to Azrou, known for its extinct volcanoes, including Jebel Hebri at 2,104 meters. We’ll explore one of the oldest forests in the country, home to cedar trees and friendly monkeys, with opportunities to feed them. Azrou is also known for its cedar cottage industry, and we’ll take a brief city tour.
Continuing our 6-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech, we’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, situated between the Middle and High Atlas. We’ll then proceed to Ziz Valley to admire its stunning red gorges, lush oases, and traditional adobe kasbahs.
In the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga, where you can settle into our auberge and prepare for an overnight stay in a tent. Depending on our arrival time, we’ll enjoy tea and relax before gearing up the camels for the adventure in Erg Chebbi.
After about an hour and a half, we’ll reach the camp, taking in the beautiful colors of the sand at sunset. You’ll enjoy a typical Moroccan dinner followed by a night of live music and a campfire under a starlit sky.
The next morning, you’ll rise early to enjoy the sunrise. At noon, we’ll visit a nomadic family for lunch in the shade of a tree, where you’ll learn to make and taste Berber pizza.
After lunch, you can relax before we take a 4×4 tour through the desert, exploring an oasis, the village of Khamlia, the MeFes mines, and meeting Berber nomads near the Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll return to the camp for dinner, music, and an overnight stay in a Berber tent.
On the following morning, we’ll trek back to the riad, where you can take a shower. Then, we’ll head to Rissani to explore a bustling market featuring various merchants and products, including handicrafts, carpets, animals, and food.
After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Draa Valley, enjoying the beautiful nature and stopping for photos along the way. Finally, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate for accommodation, dinner, and rest.
After breakfast, we’ll explore the Kasbah of Taourirt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive towers and walls, where Islamic and Jewish cultures intertwine.
Next, we’ll visit Ait Ben Haddou, another UNESCO site famous for its role in films like Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. This well-preserved fortified kasbah was built to protect homes, crops, and palm trees.
We’ll then stop at the Kasbah of Telouet, located in the village of the same name, which served as a passage through the High Atlas to Marrakech. Although it is deteriorating, it has a unique charm.
As we travel through the High Atlas, we’ll pause to take in the stunning scenery and enjoy the fresh air. Finally, we’ll arrive in Marrakech and head to your accommodation, concluding this 6-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech.
