Day 1Fes » Azrou (Ceder forest) » Midelt » Erfoud » Merzouga [467 Km]

The first day of the 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech begins in the Merzouga Sahara. Midelt, located at an altitude of 1,508 meters, is nestled between the Middle and High Atlas mountains.

The journey includes scenic stops at Azrou to see Barbary monkeys, the stunning hills of Midelt, the Tiz Ntalghamt Pass, and Ziz Gorge. After lunch, you’ll explore Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga.

This charming town in the Sahara offers an unforgettable camel ride among the magnificent sand dunes, followed by a breathtaking sunset. Evenings feature a bonfire and delicious dinners, making for a memorable experience.

Day 2Merzouga Desert Tour & Camel Trek (Night in Desert Camp) [45 km]

After breakfast, we’ll explore the local area, visiting a village of people from Mali to enjoy their music and lifestyle.

Next, we’ll head to the Miffis Mines to learn about their operations, followed by a trip into the stunning desert dunes. There, we’ll relax with a warm cup of tea with the local Bedouins before returning to the hotel.

On the fourth day of our desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will rise early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes, with its vibrant colors and unique shadows. After breakfast and a shower at our desert hotel, we’ll head to Tinghir and explore the spectacular Todra Gorge, known for being the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco.

This area offers excellent hiking opportunities, riverside relaxation, and the chance to taste local Berber cuisine. Following lunch in the gorge, we will drive through the scenic Dades Valley, concluding our day at a lovely hotel perched on a mountain.

Day 4Dades » Ouarzazate » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Marrakech [325 km]

On the last day of our 4-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we travel to Ait Ben Haddou, passing through Telouet.

We’ll stop to explore the historic Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui before continuing to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizi N-Tichka pass. You will be dropped off at your accommodation around 6-7 pm.

How long id the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?

It is roughly 1 hour for sunset and another hour for sunrise the following day. Time depends on season, Day light saving time, and sunset/sunrise time.

What if we want to skip the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?

You can. a 4×4 will be offered to transfer you from Merzouga lodge to Erg Chebbi desert camp for an extra fee of 30 Euros ( Included in luxury tent option )

Is sand boarding is included?

There will be a few sand boards available at the camp operator’s lodge to use at leisure ( Availability not guaranteed ). You can ask for one to take to the camp with you. They are free of charge
