The 3-night camel trek in the Merzouga Sahara Desert offers a unique chance to immerse yourself in the Moroccan desert alongside local guides. They will ensure your comfort, prepare delicious meals, and create a vibrant atmosphere with drum music. You’ll have the chance to try sandboarding, visit nomadic families, and experience the authentic nomadic lifestyle.
If the weather is clear, we may be fortunate enough to enjoy a stunning starry night. After a hearty dinner on the first night, we’ll gather around a campfire. The following morning, after a good breakfast, we’ll embark on a 2-hour journey to our next destination. We’ll take a break for lunch under the shade of a Tamarisk tree, a typical desert tree, before continuing our trek to spend the night with a Tuareg family, providing an opportunity to connect with them.
On the next morning, after having breakfast with the family, we’ll head to a small oasis in the desert where the next camp is hosted by a nomadic Berber family. After breakfast at the camp, we’ll return to the village or hostel. Throughout this 3-night desert adventure, expect to spend around 90 minutes to two hours each day walking in single file or riding camels.
We offer private tents equipped with mattresses and blankets, along with mineral water, full board meals during the desert excursion, and camel rides as part of the camel trek tour.
Our adventure begins at around 4:00 PM, when your camel guide will lead you to our camp, located amidst the dunes. At the peak of the tallest dune, you’ll have the opportunity to pause and capture the breathtaking sunset.
Upon arrival at the camp, you’ll be assigned your own private tent, tailored to your preferred type. Dinner will be served in a traditional Berber tent. After a delightful meal, we will gather around a campfire to enjoy live drumming and singing, featuring the songs of the Berber, Tuareg, and southern Moroccan cultures.
On the second day of our three-night camel trek in Merzouga, we will enjoy breakfast before embarking on a one-hour camel ride to our next stop: a small oasis adorned with palm trees. Here, we’ll have lunch and spend the entire day, including climbing the tall dunes for sandboarding and witnessing the sunset from the summit of the Erg Chebbi dunes.
After sunset, we’ll return to our camp for our second night, where a delicious dinner and music await us, followed by a short walk to admire the stars.
In the morning, after breakfast, we will have approximately two hours to travel to our next destination. We’ll take a lunch break next to a desert tree known as the ‘Tamarisk,’ where we will enjoy our meal for about an hour and a half in its shade.
Following lunch, we will continue our journey to visit a Touareg family, where you will spend your third night and share some time together.
The next morning, after breakfast with the Touaregs, we will head towards another small oasis located in the heart of the desert. Before arriving at the camp, we will stop for lunch along the way. You will spend your third night with a Berber nomad family residing at this oasis, and we will enjoy a lively drum party during dinner.
After breakfast, we will make our way back to the village or the camp. Each day will involve 90 minutes to two hours of either riding a camel or walking alongside one.
On the final day, we will return you to the village after breakfast. You can choose to travel either by camel or as an alternative, by 4×4.
