3-Day Desert Adventure from Ouarzazate to Marrakech with Camel Trek ITINERARY

Day 1Day 1: Journey to Ait Ben Haddou & Dades Gorges

Your adventure begins with a pickup from Ouarzazate and a visit to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its appearances in films like Lawrence of Arabia and Game of Thrones. After enjoying lunch in the village, you’ll continue along the scenic “Road of the Thousand Kasbahs” toward the stunning Dades Gorges. Spend the night comfortably in a hotel or riad in the Dades area.

Day 2Day 2: Todra Gorges Exploration & Camel Trek in the Desert

Start your day exploring the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where you can walk beneath towering 300-meter cliffs. Afterwards, head to Merzouga to meet your experienced camel guides. Set off on a camel trek across the enchanting dunes of Erg Chebbi, and enjoy a magical night camping under the stars, fully immersed in local Berber culture.

Day 3Day 3: Return to Marrakech via Scenic Landscapes

After breakfast at the desert camp, begin your return journey toward Ouarzazate, then continue to the lively city of Marrakech. Along the way, pause at scenic spots to take in the spectacular desert and mountain landscapes. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, ready to continue exploring or relax at your accommodation.

Yes, it’s a shared tour. You will travel with a small group from around the world.

What should I pack for the tour?

Comfortable clothing and footwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and a camera are recommended.

Are bathrooms private in the second night hotel?

Yes, they are. Your hotel room will have private ensuite bathrooms.

How long id the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?

It is roughly 1 hour for sunset and another hour for sunrise the following day. Time depends on season, Day light saving time, and sunset/sunrise time.

What if we want to skip the camel ride in Erg Chebbi?

You can. a 4×4 will be offered to transfer you from Merzouga lodge to Erg Chebbi desert camp for an extra fee of 30 Euros ( Included in luxury tent option )

Is sand boarding is included?

There will be a few sand boards available at the camp operator’s lodge to use at leisure ( Availability not guaranteed ). You can ask for one to take to the camp with you. They are free of charge
