The windswept fishing port, with broad beaches and ancient walled medina with ramparts built into the cliffs, has long been a popular destination. With its relaxed feel, take in the small but lively medina, stroll along the ramparts or beach, or visit the port to see the daily catch.

Depart from Essaouira to Oualidia, with a stop in Safi, a town known for its pottery and sardine exports, once occupied by the Portuguese.
Arrive in Oualidia, a peaceful seaside village featuring a lagoon, estuary, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Enjoy various activities such as walking, birdwatching, fishing, swimming, kayaking, kite surfing, and surfing. Oualidia is especially popular for birdwatching during spring and autumn.

Leave Oualidia for Rabat, traveling along the Atlantic Coast. Pass through El Jadida, a historic port city and UNESCO World Heritage site, then stop in Casablanca to visit Mohammed V Square and the grand Hassan II Mosque.
In Rabat, explore the Imperial City, including the Royal Palace walls, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, Hassan Tower, and Oudaya Kasbah with its stunning ocean views and local artisan galleries. Stay overnight in Rabat.
Continuing our 14 days Morocco trip from Marrakech. Depart Rabat for Tangier along the stunning coastal road. Visit Asilah, a beautiful coastal town with its whitewashed houses, blue walls and doors, and many murals. Tangier, the gateway to Africa from Europe, has always been an international melting pot.
Take a tour of Tangier and explore the bustling medina, and city surroundings, and enjoy the stunning vista where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet. Overnight in Tangier.
Leave Tangier for the charming mountain village of Chefchaouen, traveling through the green Rif Mountains.
Known for its iconic blue-washed houses, Chefchaouen attracts both tourists and locals, especially during the summer.
Wander its narrow streets filled with souks offering local crafts, wool products, embroidery, and goat cheese unique to the region.
Relax in the town square, visit a local farm, or hike in the surrounding parks. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast at the riad, we’ll begin our journey with a scenic drive from the Rif Mountains through fertile hills to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, an open-air museum.
Although not as grand as other Roman sites, Volubilis offers a relaxed way to explore an important part of Morocco’s history.
Next, we’ll head to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, for lunch and a visit to its historic medina walls. We’ll also see Bab el Mansour and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
After Meknes, we’ll drive to Fes, where you’ll spend the night.
Today, we’ll explore Fes with a guided city tour.
Known as the largest medieval city in the world, Fes offers a sensory experience with its bustling medina. You can follow one of five themed tourist routes to discover mosques, palaces, and more—though mosque entry is reserved for Muslims.
After visiting the dye pits, tanneries, and local eateries, we’ll head back to the hotel before a possible evening of Moroccan entertainment and dining in the city.
After breakfast, we’ll set off through the scenic Middle Atlas towards Ifrane, passing forests of cork oak and cedar, home to Barbary apes. As we cross the peaceful passes of the Middle and High Atlas, we’ll glimpse the unique southern architecture.
We’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, surrounded by a barren landscape of desert and scrub, with the High Atlas peaks forming a stunning backdrop. After crossing the Tizi-n-Talremt Pass, we’ll descend into the Ziz Valley’s desert plains.
Heading south to Erfoud and Rissani, we’ll discover a vast oasis of palm trees and ksour (fortified villages). Finally, we’ll reach your Kasbah hotel by the golden dunes, where you can relax by the pool and enjoy a live desert blues performance.
Wake up to a desert sunrise and ride a camel back to the hotel. After a refreshing shower and breakfast, you’ll relax for a bit before embarking on a 4WD tour. Explore the Merzouga dunes, visit the Khamlia village to hear the spiritual music of the Gnawa people, and meet nomads in their desert tents.
Next, visit Merzouga’s lake, home to various bird species, and head to Rissani, once a caravan hub. Stroll through its vibrant souk, then enjoy lunch.
Return to the Kasbah for tea and relaxation, followed by a camel ride into the pink dunes. After exploring, enjoy dinner with traditional music and spend the night in a nomad tent.
After leaving the desert, we head to Todra Gorge, a 1000-foot canyon surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, often called Morocco’s Grand Canyon.
Today, we explore its impressive depths and heights, watching how the light shifts across the gorge throughout the day.
We then travel to Dades for the night.
After breakfast, we’ll drive through charming villages, passing fields tended by Berber women with the High Atlas mountains in the background.
Next, we head towards Ouarzazate, going off-road to visit Berber nomads in their caves and enjoy tea with them. We’ll then continue through the Valley of the Roses, known for its May Rose Festival, and pass the kasbahs of Skoura.
In Ouarzazate, we’ll visit the cinema museum before heading to Ait Benhaddou, where you can explore the ruins and enjoy stunning views from the hilltop.
In the afternoon, we’ll drive over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas mountains, descending towards Marrakech. This ancient city, known for its souks and vibrant streets, is dominated by the stunning Koutoubia Minaret.
Today, we’ll make the most of our time exploring Marrakech’s souks for souvenirs before heading to Menara Airport for your departure. This marks the end of our 14-day Morocco journey.
