Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Med V airport in Casablanca, you will be greeted by your private English-speaking driver, who will provide an overview of your New Year tour.
Next, explore Casablanca, the country’s largest city, where you can admire its stunning architecture, the grand Hassan II Mosque, and the scenic gardens and terrace cafes along the Atlantic Coast.
Later, head to the capital city, Rabat, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night at a hotel or Riad.
We’ll drive to Chefchaouen today, making brief stops along the way to explore before reaching the blue city. We’ll spend the night in a charming riad in the Medina.
Today, we travel from Chefchaouen to Meknes for a guided tour. First, we’ll explore the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved ruins in Northern Africa. Your local guide will share insights about life in the Roman Empire as you admire ancient bathhouses, stunning mosaics, and towering marble pillars.
Next, we head to Meknes City. After lunch, our tour begins at the grand 18th-century Bab Mansour gate, built by Sultan Moulay Ismail. We’ll also visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and pass by the entrance to the Meknes Royal Palace, concluding at the massive Heri Es Souani, the former stable and granary for his 12,000 horses. We then leave Meknes for an overnight stay in Fes, including dinner.
After breakfast at your Riad, you’ll start a guided tour of the medina, one of the largest walled cities in the world, dating back to the 9th century.
The tour begins at the Royal Palace gate and the 16th-century Jewish quarter, known as Mellah. You’ll explore various artisan quarters, including souks for brass, copper, and wedding adornments, as well as areas for carpenters, bakers, and butchers. A highlight is the renowned Fes tannery, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the craftsmen at work.
You’ll also visit the religious and historical center, including the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II (the founder of Fes), the 9th-century Al Karaouine University, and one of the Medersas (Koranic schools). Enjoy an overnight stay in the Riad with breakfast.
On our 10-day Morocco tour from Casablanca, we leave Fes for Erfoud. The route takes us through a picturesque cedar forest and the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a lunch stop in Midelt. We’ll continue through the stunning Ziz Valley, known for its palm trees and vast oasis.
Along the way, you’ll see countless ksars, small villages of individual homes. Upon arrival in Erfoud, famous for its date festival and fossils, we’ll complete the approximately 7-hour journey to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert. Dinner and overnight stay in a Kasbah hotel.
Embark on your Saharan adventure in Merzouga with a visit to a Nomad village and lunch at a Kasbah hotel near the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Enjoy some leisure time by the pool before your next excursion.
As the sun sets, take a camel ride or walk across the sands to the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll witness their beautiful red glow.
As night falls, immerse yourself in the captivating sounds of Berber drum music while savoring a delicious Moroccan feast. Spend the night under the stars in a private luxury tent equipped with a bathroom and hot shower, creating unforgettable memories in the desert during a gala dinner.
Begin your day with a beautiful sunrise followed by a delightful breakfast. Next, return to Merzouga to pick up your car and journey towards the breathtaking Todra Gorge, traveling along the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.
This area has been featured in several Hollywood films, including The Last Temptation of Christ and Jewel of the Nile. Arriving at the stunning Todra Gorge, you’ll see water springs flowing between the rocks and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
Take a brief walk into the gorge, surrounded by towering pink and grey rock walls. We then proceed through the Dades Valley, concluding with dinner and an overnight stay in a Kasbah hotel.
Today, explore the Valley of Roses in Kelaa M’Gouna, the heart of Moroccan rose products. Then, travel along the Thousand Kasbahs Road, passing through the Skoura palm oasis to Ouarzazate. After lunch in Ouarzazate, visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou.
Leave the kasbah and head toward the stunning Atlas Mountains via the Tizi Tichka pass at 2,260 meters, enjoying breathtaking views of valleys, mountains, and nearby Berber villages. Arrive in Marrakech by sunset for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel or riad.
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of Marrakech, starting at the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, a landmark that influenced structures like Seville’s Giralda and Rabat’s Hassan Tower. Next, visit the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, which date back to Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur’s era. Discovered in 1917, these tombs were restored by the Beaux-arts service and contain the remains of about sixty Saadian Dynasty members from the Draa River valley.
After lunch, explore the vibrant Jemaa el Fna Square, renowned for its diverse food stalls, snake charmers, musicians, and fortune-tellers. Experience the unique atmosphere of this central square in old Marrakech, and stroll through the souks to admire countless handicrafts. Enjoy the night with breakfast at the Riad.
